해당 프로젝트는 5명의 작가가 참여한 프로젝트로, 프로젝트 내에서 나는 의뢰인으로부터 고인이 되신 분의 소중한 기억의 부분들을 전달 받고, 그에 대한 작업을 제작하여 헌정했다. 이를 위해 우리는 몇번의 인터뷰를 거치고, 편지를 주고받으며 고인에 대한 기억을 공유했다. 나의 두 작품들은 나의 의뢰인의 할아버지에 대한 기억을 담고 있다. 여기에서 나는 전달받은 기억과는 연결고리가 없는 물질들, 검은 고무, 선풍기 모터, 등을 사용하여 기억에서 가장 중추적인 부분이었던 소리, 냄새와 같은 비물질적이고 감각적인 부분을 재현 해 내고자 했다. 이는 물질에 대한 나의 관심에 기반하지만, 동시에 뚜렷한 형태가 없는 기억, 몇겹의 막으로 인해 실체가 더욱이 모호해진 고인에 대한 기억에 다시금 제 3자로써 개입하게 되는 과정에 주목하여 선택된 방식이 다. 또한 옅어진 기억 속에서 아주 모호하게 남아있는 감정을 더욱 곤두선 감각을 통해 끌어내고자 함이다.

Five artists including me involved in this project. We received the precious memory of their deceased from clients, produced works about it, and dedicated it to them. For this work, the artists and clients went through several interviews, exchanged letters, shared memories of the deceased. My two kinetic works in this project are about the story of the grandfather of my client. I reproduced immaterial and sensational parts such as sound and smell, which are the most central parts of the memory, using materials that have no connection to the memory I received; black rubber, fan motor, etc. It was basically started from my interest in materiality, but at the same time, it was a method chosen by paying attention to the process of intervening again as a third person in the memory that has become more obscure due to several layers occurred by the process of conversation. In this way, I aimed to bring out the feelings that remained very vague in the faded memories more sharply.
